What is the best weight loss supplement or aid?

I am looking to lose weight. I have been working out as well as changing habits. I want something to help me a little more. Are there any weight supplements that actually help? I am 245 and 5′ 8" and i am looking to go down to 200 or even 190.

Also, if you have any dieting tips, please free to share!

Protein…

Most supplements come from two basic standpoints: they either speed up your metabolism (which coffee does just as well) or they are diuretics (which softens the stool, and make you poo more… which means less time to absorb calories and nutrients from food – you could buy exlax and it would do the same thing).

I have used and enjoy a high protein and low carb and low fat diet. I still get to eat the meats that I enjoy (most of them are very lean meats). Carbs are something that humans only relatively recently added to our diets, and now Americans tend to overdose on them.

Eating a high protein diet will provide you with energy, and the basic building blocks with which to continue building muscle in the gym… however, you will lose weight because it takes work for you body to convert protein into an energy source.

I eat six times a day (about every 2 hours). I learned this from an Olympic coach I worked with at Penn State. Those are not full meals mind you, but about fist size servings of protein and fruits and veggies – enough to provide a continual source of protein and energy (so you don’t experience the doldrums that low blood sugar causes that is another factor in overeating).

I would highly recommend you speak to someone unbiased and knowledgeable before you consider buying any OTC supplements.

Before taking any "supplements" are you sure you have done everything you can with your diet?

    Please consider the following:

    - Are you eating regularly 5 or 6 small meals plus (healthy!) snacks throughout the day?

    - Have you replaced all refined carbohydrates and sugars with whole foods? (No white bread, no white pasta, whole wheats and grains only, no fruit juices, only whole fruits, no eating the potato without the skin then you are refining it yourself… etc.)

    - Are you avoiding all junk food? (Ice cream, chocolate bars, potato chips, French fries, burgers, etc.)

    - Are you eating at least 7 to 10 servings of fruits and vegetables a day?

    - Have you substituted red meats for fish and poultry? (No more than one or two servings a week would be good)

    - Do you avoid drinking your calories? (No "smoothies", no juice, no soda, stick to water, occasional diet pop, crystal light, coffee with no sugar)

    - Do you live as stress-free as possible?

    - Are you getting enough sleep?

There’s probably more I’m missing, but you answer "yes" to any of these I would do those things differently first. If you don’t know why I ask the questions I ask, then some knowledge of diet would be your very best supplement. No supplement will take off 45 pounds or more alone, none… Your body has "setpoint" for the weight it wants to maintain, that "setpoint" largely determined by environment. Change the environment your body lives in to change your weight.

Here are two of the best products I have tried. I used to weigh almost 200 lbs and didn’t think it was too much of a problem until I had a dr’s visit and they told me that the "extra" weight I had was causing stress on my heart, body, and knees. More importantly, they told me that the longer I am overweight, the more that the effects of my "extra" weight will be irreversable. I have lost 25 lbs in two months! I used both of these products…I took one for one month and the other the next month, kept a journal of my eating habits and exercise and I feel great now!!! I highly recommend trying these products along with a healthy diet and exercise. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.
This was the first product I tried and loved it!!! I only switched as they say your body kind of builds an immunity to weight loss pills and should switch every 30 days or so.
